SCARS didn’t know what the outcome would be for Cindy’s babies. With so much infection ravaging her body, what would happen to the babies? But, all of our fears were in vain: Cindy gave birth to five healthy puppies!

The animals of SCARS have many stories to tell. Here are just a few of them.
Before proceeding please understand that some of these stories may be disturbing to some readers. Although some do not have a happy ending, many of these animals are now in loving forever-homes.
Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS) is dedicated to reducing the number of homeless animals in Northern Alberta, Canada
We believe that there is a suitable home for all homeless animals: young or old; large or small.
As a volunteer-run, non-profit society, we care for these animals by providing veterinary care and foster homes for animals in need until a permanent home is found. These private foster homes provide the animals with warm shelter, food, exercise, and tender loving care (something that so many of the animals we receive have never experienced).
SCARS does not practice selective intake procedures and operates in a triage manner: taking the animal in most medical need first. As a result our medical expenses are enormous. Please consider donating to our rescue efforts.

It amazes me on how much cuelty to animals has become a big part of our world in a negative way.Why do people get satisfaction over suffering of a innocent animal? This question is one of those that never seems to be able to be answered.
I just can't understand how anyone can do these sorts of things to a living breathing being. What has the animal possibly ever done except love you unconditionally?? People who do this should be punished severely. I think that anyone capable of doing this to an animal would do the same to me or you. Makes me so sad...
I am soooo glad to see Cindy has a new chance at life!!!!
This is great! I'm so happy to see that Cindy is now happy and in her forever home:)
Its great that
Cindy is now in her forever home!
YAY FOR CINDY! im so happy a wonderful dog like that had one more chance to live life to the fullest! Congrats to the adopting family =)
How can people be so mean to animals! If you can't care for an animal why have one!I'm so glad Cindy has a better life than in than past.
I am quite young(13) but when i'm older i want to be a vet so i can help animals like these. I think it is so sad and stupid that people do things to inocent animals like this. There should be tougher laws against animal cruelty. When a person gets killed, and the police find out who killed them they normally sentence the person to life or for a long, long time. I think it should be the same laws for animals too, because they are also loving breathing animals who were loved or SHOULD be loved as much as people. As soon as i get a job of any sort i am donating money every month to SCARS. And when my oldest dog passes i will be sure to adopt a dog from SCARS. No matter what he/she looks like. Sorry for such a long comment. God bless every pet in this world including the abused ones.
